Here are some frequently asked questions.

- Working professionals start-ups
- SMEs
Will also be eligible to appear for the examination.
- The eligibility criteria for school students:
- Should be a student in class 9-12, enrolled in any stream; Arts, Science or Commerce.
- Should be a student of English language.
- The eligibility criteria for university students:
- Should be enrolled in a technical/non-technical stream – Law, Engineering and Technology, Fashion, Design, Media and Mass communication. Research students are welcome too!
- Should belong to a recognized, English medium university.
- Must possess a valid student ID.
- Faculty/ Working Professionals/ Start-ups and SME’s can also appear for the examination.
Here are a few important dates (tentative) with regards to IPTSE 2022:
Registrations open on 1st September, 2022
Mock tests: 30th-5th November, 2022
Final Examination: 15th – 20th November 2022
Results: TBA
Award Ceremony: 14/15th December
After you complete the registration process on the website, you shall be provided a personalized dashboard comprising of
a. E-learning platform
b. Essential reading materials
- Please note that the reading material provided is for a particular edition of
IPTSE, which shall not be available on Registrants’ Dashboard once Exam for
a particular IPTSE Edition is over.
c. Access to mock tests
d. Access to final examination
e. Access to E-certificates after qualifying.
Your study material will be available on your personalized dashboard which you will receive upon your successful registration.

It’s an online examination
For MBA student, the correct option is “Researcher & Management”
For BSc student, the correct option is “Engineering and Tech”
In light of our effort towards being Eco-friendly, we do not send any physical copies of reading material. This will be made available to registrants through online mode on personalized dashboard.
E-certificates and the scores shall be made available on personalized dashboard upon successfully qualifying the examination.
Examination guidelines as follows:
Faculty/ Working Professionals/ Start-ups/ SMEs:
- Exam duration: 60 minutes. No. of questions: 60 questions.
- You may spend as much time on a question as you require. There is no timer for each question.
- There will be no negative marking.
- To qualify, the candidate must score 40% and above, i.e., correctly answer 24 questions or more.
- You may skip questions; however, you will not be able to return to the skipped question/s at the end of the exam.
- Every participant will get a unique rank.
- Instructions for the examination will be sent via email to your registered email ID. All participants are requested to go through it before proceeding with the examination.
For Regional Rank holders to be declared, there must be a minimum of 500 students from that region.
University Students:
- Exam duration: 60 minutes. No. of questions: 60 questions.
- You may spend as much time on a question as you require. There is no timer for each question.
- There will be no negative marking.
- To qualify, the candidate must score 40% and above, i.e., correctly answer 24 questions or more.
- You may skip questions; however, you will not be able to return to the skipped question/s at the end of the exam.
- Every student who participates will get a unique rank.
- Instructions for the examination will be sent via email to your registered email ID. All students are requested to go through it before proceeding with the examination.

School students:
- Exam duration: 45 minutes. No. of Questions: 45 questions.
- You may spend as much time on a question as you require. There is no timer for each question.
- There will be no negative marking.
- To qualify, the candidate must score 40% and above, i.e., correctly answer 18 questions or more.
- You may skip questions; however, you will not be able to return to the skipped question/s at the end of the exam.
- Every student who participates will get a unique rank.
- Instructions for the examination will be sent via email to your registered email ID. All students are requested to go through it before proceeding with the examination.
For Regional Rank holders to be declared, there must be a minimum of 500 students from that region.
Before you appear for IPTSE, make sure to read these rules and regulations carefully.
- To avoid reducing your exam duration, login to the exam portal at least 15 minutes before to complete the system check.
- You will be notified of the time remaining, 10 minutes before the end of the examination.
- You may skip questions; however, you will not be able to return to the skipped question/s at the end of the exam.
- Please avoid switching between tabs/windows. Switching will result in auto termination.
- Don’t exit the exam portal during the examination, it will result in auto termination of the session. You will automatically be disqualified after the 3rd attempt at exiting/switching tabs or windows.
- Please close all other tabs & windows before you begin the examination.
- You are not permitted to leave your device during the examination. Washroom visits and snack breaks are not advised.
- Do not connect to external hardware like displays/monitors/projectors, before or during the examination.
- You are not allowed to use headphones, ear pods/buds, speakers, or any other listening equipment. There are no audio instructions/questions.
- Except the examinee, no other person is allowed near the examination device.
- At the end of the exam, ensure you confirm the submission of your answers.
- Do not abruptly close the examination tab/window; wait until your answers have been submitted.
The system requirements are as follows:
- Operating System: Windows 7 & above or Mac iOS.
- Internet Speed: 1 mbps or higher.
- Functional webcam: either external or internal.
- Browser: Ensure that you’re using the latest version of Google Chrome. Refer to the steps in the next section to install Google Chrome.
- Notification permissions: Disable all Mobile/Laptop/PC application notifications to avoid receiving malpractice warnings during the examination. Multiple warnings may lead to exam termination.
- Your device should be completely charged prior to the examination.
The examination is best taken in the Google Chrome browser. In case your device does not have the Chrome browser, follow the steps below to install it on your laptop/PC.
In case you’re using a tablet/smartphone, you can install the Chrome browser from the App Store.

MAC System: Please install from the App Store.
Set Google Chrome as your default browser >> Click on Settings as below.
Appearing for IPTSE
- Open the email with exam details.
- Click on the exam link and enter your login credentials (same as the login credentials for the student dashboard).
- Click on ‘Proceed’ to begin the examination.
- Click the checkbox to convey your acknowledgement and click on ‘I am ready to begin’.
- Allow Camera permissions and carefully read the instructions & warnings that appear.
- In case there are any images with the question, click on the image to enlarge it for ease of viewing.
- After the timer runs out, the exam will be submitted automatically. Read the summary and confirm.

On successfully qualifying the final examination, scores will be made available on personalized dashboard.
The formal announcement of winners and awardees shall be made on the day of IP Conclave & IPTSE Awards, exact date and time of which shall be announced on IPTSE website and also through an email.
You should have paid for the same at the time of registration. If you paid 399/-Rs then the doubt clearing session isn’t included
- Doubt clearing session will take place 15 days prior to the date of final examination
- An email shall be sent to those mentioning date and time for doubt clearing sessions

You will be able to find your exam scores on your dashboard.
Follow the steps:
– Login at https://e-learning.iptse.com/login with your registered mobile number
– Enter the OTP as received
– This will land you to your dashboard where you can find the participation certificates as well as score achieved
The participation certificates do not carry the score though.
You will be able to find the E-certificate carrying your ranking and score achieved after the IPTSE Conclave and IPTSE award ceremony that is generally scheduled on 28th April (during the eve of world IP Day)
Answer: The Certificate shall start to appear on your dashboard after the award ceremony
The mode / venue details (in case of physical event) shall be communicated to you via Email at an appropriate time.
Its an All India Olympiad that witness participation in thousands from individuals/working professionals/SMEs/start ups/School and University students. Getting a detailed analysis of exam paper is currently not possible. There is no human interface in checking the paper. It’s AI enabled and fully automated and hence no chance of prejudice anyway.
You will know about your ranking during IPTSE Conclave and IPTSE award ceremony. This is generally scheduled on 28th April (during the eve of world IP Day). Keep tab on your email to receive updates in this regard.
