India’s first IP Olympiad,
creating a league of IP experts


Launched in July 2018, IPTSE or Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination is the first & one-of- its-kind annual ‘IP Olympiad’ for Intellectual Property Rights in India that tests the knowledge of an individual on patents, designs, copyright, designs, geographical indications and trade secret. IPTSE is supported by several organizations that believe in knowledge based economy such as ASSOCHAM, ERICSSON, and different state governments, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.

We’ve also received support from state and private universities to further IP knowledge in the country. Check out all our partner institutions.

The exam is customized for school and university students on the basis of their streams, including law, engineering and technology, fashion, design, researchers and media students. This exam also certifies students’ knowledge in copyright, patent, trademark, geographical indication, industrial design and trade secrets.


The primary aim of IPTSE is to establish how intellectual property is a true reflection of innovations and expressions. This annual IP Olympiad was first conducted in the year 2018, and since, has been taking place once every year. The study materials for IPTSE are designed and developed as per the needs and requirements of its audience.


Considering the global and national importance of Intellectual Property, schools and universities can also create awareness among their students and encourage them to register and participate in the examination. Students belonging to grades IX-XII, undergraduate and polytechnic students are eligible to enroll for IPTSE. Besides students, schools and universities can also directly register for the exam on the website.


Basis the score obtained by the students in the exam, the are rewarded with scholarship amount and certification.


Dr Sheetal Chopra

Dr Sheetal Chopra is the Honorary Course Coordinator for the Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination (IPTSE) program. With over 2 decades of industry experience in Public Policy, Education, Research and Government Affairs, Sheetal is a registered Indian Patent Agent and an author of the book for “Patent Practitioners and Patent Agents” by Notion Press, available on Amazon. Additionally, she has authored the book, “A Story Book of Intellectual Property”, which is available in both English and Hindi.

Sheetal is not only an avid speaker at national and international forums but also holds immense expertise in international trade, advocacy, and policy development both at domestic and international levels. Besides, she assists in design, development, negotiation, consensus-building and implementation of international trade laws and international regulations, apart from regularly sharing her inputs on policy-making for sustainable development of the Indian and international economy. She is also a trainer and guest faculty at various educational institutions.
